Dunfermline businesses get behind Fife Gift Card

Louise Hutchison promotes the Fife Gift CardWhen it comes to buying a gift, it can be difficult to choose. But did you know that Fife has its very own gift card that makes it easy to support Fife businesses and shop local?

Originally branded as the Scotland Loves Local gift card, we now have a new Fife design. It works in the same way as any other gift card, but instead of having to shop in one place, it opens up a range of businesses locally.

Don’t worry if you still have credit on an old gift card, participating Fife businesses are able to accept both.

Fife has a fantastic range of independent businesses, from hair and beauty salons to family-owned bars and restaurants to unique gift shops, as well as larger shopping centres. We have been out and about in Dunfermline this week to talk to businesses about the benefits of the Fife Gift Card.

Fife businesses, especially local independents, have welcomed this initiative by Fife Council to provide business support that makes ‘buying local’ easier.

Louise Hutchison of Abbot House said: "It's good see the Fife Gift Card being promoted to give local businesses a boost as all of the money spent by the public will go back into supporting our local businesses."

Bryan Beveridge promotes the Fife Gift CardBryan Beveridge of Bryan Beveridge Quality Butchers added: "Making Fife the focus for this gift card is exactly what we need, and I hope people in Fife support the businesses who accept the card. I'm pleased to see more Dunfermline businesses coming on board."

The gift card is designed to keep people shopping local and protect local jobs. We’d like to thank everyone who has already purchased a card as well as the local retailers and businesses who accept them. We appreciate the part you play in supporting the local Fife economy!

Recent new recruits to the programme from across the city centre include:

  • Spex in the City, Bridge Street
  • Premier Frames, Bruce Street
  • Lime Salon, Bridge Street
  • The Seven Kings, Bridge Street
  • Little Shop of Heroes, Maygate
