Improvements to Kirkcaldy High Street’s pedestrian zone

During October, we’ll invest £50,000 improving the pedestrian zone on Kirkcaldy’s High Street.

We’ll be installing automatic rising bollards at the west end of the zone to improve road safety in the area due to the stretch being persistently used as a thoroughfare by unauthorised vehicles.

The High Street will remain open during the works, which will begin on Monday 9 October and take around two weeks to complete. Access for Blue Badge holders and loading vehicles will remain during their permitted times.

As a reminder, vehicles are not permitted in the pedestrian zone area of the High Street except Blue Badge permit holders and loading vehicles 5pm – 11am any day and all day on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

We apologise for any inconvenience and delay caused by these works, and we’ll try to keep any disturbance to a minimum. Your patience and co-operation during this time is greatly appreciated.
