Flooding near Iron Bridge, Leven, Fife.Fife Council has identified the cause of flooding near Iron Bridge, Leven.

Bill Liddle, roads maintenance service manager explained: “We’ve been investigating persistent flooding at the entrances to the wastewater treatment plant and the timber works on Elm Park.

“We’ve found that the existing drainage system is damaged beyond repair.  We’re surveying the area so we can plan for its replacement, and we intend to begin as soon as we know the extent of the work needed.

“There will be some disruption to traffic as the work progresses and we’ll provide updates once we know how the road will be affected.

“In the meantime we'll increase our checks on this particular area during rainfall to ensure there is a speedier response to any flooding issues”
