Calling all Lumphinnans residents! Kids have their say on new playpark - now it's over to you!

pupils from Lumphinnans Primary School and Nursery

We want to hear your thoughts on the exciting plans for our new playpark at Hope Street, Lumphinnans. The young minds of Lumphinnans Primary School and Nursery have already shared their preferences, and now it's your turn.

Pupils from Lumphinnans Primary 'Communities Committee' presented their choices to officers last week and are very excited about the new play equipment coming to their village.

Cllr Alex Campbell, Cowdenbeath Area Committee Convenor, emphasized the importance of community involvement, stating, "The local kids voices are at the heart of this project and we've heard what they think, now it's over to the adults. This playpark is not just about structures; it's about creating a space where our children can thrive and your input will not only shape the playpark but also contribute to the overall well-being of our local children".

"We’re looking forward to working with the Lumphinnans community to finalise the play park plans for their area and encourage as many people as possible to take part in the survey and share opinions.”

"The Cowdenbeath Area Committee allocated £150,000 budget to make this playpark project a reality. Now, it's your turn to have your say! We want to hear from every member of the community about the two options presented".

You can do this by completing the online survey at www.fife.gov.uk/consultations.

In the new year, we'll be hosting a series of drop-in centres in the village. This will give everyone the chance to view the plans, ask questions, and engage in discussions about the future of our playpark.  Keep an eye on 'Our Cowdenbeath' Facebook page for more information on these drop-in sessions.  The online survey will be available until 19 January 2024.
