Football is one of the most popular sports in the area with thousands of Fifer’s taking part every week. Fife Council’s Active Fife Team has a dedicated Football Development section that help to develop talent in young players and improve their opportunities. If you require any information about any our football programmes.
The Scottish FA along with Fife Council and other important partners work closely to help deliver over 100 weekly participation sessions throughout Fife. These sessions are delivered to kids from 18 months to 12 years old. All sessions are open to boys and girls of all abilities. We also offer a number of walking football sessions for people of all ages.

Our skills centres for primary age children continue to be fun and interactive, led by our fully qualified SFA coaches. FUN is at the forefront of all of our sessions, however our coaches will strive to challenge kids with new skills and new games. Team work and creativity is promoted at all times!
Walking football has become increasingly popular. It’s exactly what it sounds like – a standard game of football where players walk instead of run. It's designed to help people get fit or maintain an active lifestyle no matter what their age and fitness, as well as support people getting back into football if they have given it up due to age or injury.
Fife Council is working in partnership with our local professional clubs to support our communities by providing activities for all ages, from mini kickers to walking football, that help improve community togetherness along with individual health & wellbeing.
