Fife Council and Fife Sports and Leisure Trust are working together through their Active Fife project to get more people more active, more often, to increase levels of physical activity and participation in sport.

As part of the collaboration, we are focussing on the activities available in your area so that we can get everyone moving - whether you are new to being active or want to try out some different moves!

Kirkcaldy and Central Fife Sports Council

We provide advice and assistance with the development of all sports, competitions and other events as considered desirable. We also assist in the formation of sports clubs where none exist, or where existing clubs are unable to fulfill current needs.

Active Communities

The Active Fife Communities Team aims to:

  • Encourage and enable the inactive to be more active and the active to stay active throughout life.
  • Develop physical confidence and competence form the earliest age.
  • Improve our active infrastructure – people and places.
  • Support wellbeing and resilience in communities through physical activity and sport.
  • Improve opportunities to participate, progress and achieve in sport.

Active Schools Fife

The Active Schools Fife team works with primary, secondary and additional support needs schools to:

  • Increase the quality and range of opportunities to participate in sport before school, during lunchtime and after school.
  • Recruit and develop a network of volunteers & coaches to deliver sport and build capacity.
  • Increase the number of young people accessing leadership roles encouraging and supporting them to reach their potential.
  • Support and develop pathways to improve the transition for participants from schools to clubs and community provision.
