16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence – November 2023
Our annual campaign - 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence – will take place from 25th November to 10th December 2023.
Throughout these 16 Days, we will have a programme of events that will raise awareness about gender inequality and violence against women. Please see the programme below for more information about our events. We will continue to add to this over the next few weeks, so please check back regularly to see if there's anything new.
Reclaim The Night 2023 – Thursday 30th November 2023
We are delighted to announce that during our 16 Days campaign we will be holding a Reclaim the Night march in Fife. This is a chance for us to come together and raise our voices about women’s rights, gender inequality, and gender-based violence.
We’ll meet at 4.30pm outside the Town House, Wemyssfield, Kirkcaldy. At 5pm we will march together down the High Street to the Old Kirk, where we will have a free, ticketed event starting at 5.30pm.
You do not need to book to attend the march, everyone is welcome to join us on the night.
However, if you would like to attend the event at the Old Kirk after the march, please book your place by using this booking form: Reclaim the Night After March Event at The Old Kirk event tickets from TicketSource. We are using a booking system to manage numbers and keep everyone safe. Unfortunately, you will not be able to enter the Old Kirk if your name is not on our booking list.
Please note that we had previously planned to march to the Live Lounge, however, to allow us to open the event to more people, we have decided to move to a larger venue.
Come along to our free Banner Making Workshops for a cuppa and a chat while you make your banner. We'll provide the materials, you provide the words:
If you can help us spread the word by displaying our posters or handing out leaflets, then please feel free to print out our posters below or get in touch to request posters/leaflets by emailing laura.pearson@fife.gov.uk.
Violence against women and girls, in any form, has no place in our vision for a safe, strong, successful Scotland. It damages health and wellbeing, limits freedom and potential, and is a violation of the most fundamental human rights.
We campaign and raise awareness of Violence against women, hoping to create change in our communities.

Back To TopThis exhibition follows on from the success of the previous installations held in Fife (St Andrews University in partnership with Got Consent?, and Fife College's Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes, Dunfermline, and Levenmouth Campuses in partnership with Fife College). FRASAC has also been an integral partner offering a confidential safe space area at each of the venues.
The installation will be facilitated by experienced, trained staff throughout the entirety. Resources and signposting routes will also be supported by partner organisations who will be available at information stalls.
We will be publicising all support avenues including FRASAC (Fife Rape and Sexual Assault Centre), NHS Gender Based Violence Nursing Team, Fife Women's Aid, Police Scotland, Rape Crisis Helpline, and the Sexual Assault Referral Coordination Services. Staff from various agencies will be holding stalls at the venue with further information about these services and the work they do with Fife Violence Against Women Partnership.
This is part of an ongoing roadshow that has been running in Fife. Further dates within the wider community setting will hopefully be added later in the year.
Please see our Exhibition Flyer for more details.
Back To TopThe 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence campaign ran from Friday 25th November to Saturday 10th December 2022.

This included supporting the National White Ribbon pledge - “never to commit, condone or remain silent about violence against women.
