Fife Council has 6 community use sites across Fife with swimming pools. Our pools are used for a diverse range of activities including: Swimming, Fitness Classes, Canoe Sessions and Birthday Parties! With competitive rates, we host activities for all the family.
Swimming is a skill for life that promotes sport and well being. Acquiring water confidence is an essential skill for life which will introduce children to a sport discipline. Our junior classes aim to allow children to feel confident and have fun in the water at their own pace through the Scottish Swimming Learn to Swim Program. Adult learners can feel relaxed as they learn to swim or improve their current skills. Public swimming sessions are available for the whole family to enjoy
Public swimming is suitable for those who want to enjoy the recreational use of our pools, Both Inverkeithing High School and Lochgelly High School offer public swimming slots for both adults and children. Our relaxed swim at Inverkeithing is for adults to enjoy a quieter more relaxed environment. For more information on Lochgelly's public swimming please contact them directly.
Our fun sessions allow children to splash around in a fun and controlled environment. These sessions are an excellent way for children to make friends and get some exercise in at the same time. Lochgelly has a pool inflatable to test the agility of the children. Our other sites have youth clubs whereby swimming is often available, along side many more fun activities.
Community Use delivers a range of aquatics based Vocational courses for learners. Our National Pool Lifeguard Qualification courses gives learners the ability to become qualified through the Royal Life Saving Society, and can lead to paid employment in leisure centres throughout the UK. We also host a variety of Teacher Of Aquatics courses to allow learners to gain a qualification as a swimming instructor.
Our pool hire can either be for parties, private groups or for one off special events. Our timetables, staffing availability and hire costs vary from site to site, so please contact your local pool for more information.
