No. We don’t have a membership scheme for Fife Cycle Park. Block booking options are available, and encouraged, though.
Yes – if it is a public cycling session. Coached sessions will have a coach supervising and clubs will be expected to provide their own coach.
Access to the circuit is by a booking system and all organised activities are led by a qualified instructor or certified community group or club. There is also drop in sessions for people just to turn up and ride. These are part of the overall programme.
The circuit is a loop of tarmac road, fully street-lit and built to ‘A Road’ standard. It is suitable for road bikes, hybrids, mountain bikes and electric bikes. Bikes with motorised engines are not permitted.
No. Only non-motorised vehicles will be allowed on the circuit. Anything with a motor engine will not be permitted.
Yes. A range of pedal and electric bikes are available for hire. Helmets are available for hire too.
Yes and yes. A cycle helmet must be worn at all times when cycling. Helmets are available for hire if you don’t have your own.
We do not have dedicated first aiders on site. If you injure yourself please make a member of staff aware who will take the appropriate action.
All Fife Council facilities are covered by public liability insurance.
Yes. There is a community club house, located next to the circuit. This facility provides changing facilities, toilets, community activity room, small kitchen, office and bike storage. A ‘changing places’ disabled toilet is also available.
There is a dedicated community club house, located next to the circuit. This will house a small kitchen and have vending machines for you to purchase snacks and hot drinks.
Yes. Limited on-site parking (including disabled parking) is available. Customers also have access to parking spaces in the nearby Lochgelly High School car park out with school hours.
There sure is! People can also come along and watch when a competition is on.
Everyone! The park is for all ages and abilities. It allows for a full range of cycling activities to take place in a traffic free environment all year round. There will be a variety of activities, from balance bike sessions to older adults returning to cycling, as well as coaching, drop in sessions and races.
The total distance of the road is around 1.6km; offering various circuit layout options within this of 1.6km, 1km, 500m and 250m.
