Leven Beach

It’s been over 50 years since the last Levenmouth trains left the station, but they’re coming back, and local communities are ready to welcome them with open arms!

Get on board with some of the celebrations to mark this historic moment in Fife.

VIP events

Wednesday 29 May: Special guests from across the community will join the First Minister on the inaugural passenger journey along the route, with Leven and Cameron Bridge stations hosting invite-only events to mark the occasion.

Saturday 1 June: Golden Ticket Day - people who have played a pivotal role with the railway, past and present, have been invited to take a private trip before the public timetable starts.

Saturday 25 May and Sunday 26 May

Let's give Levenmouth a spring clean! Community Litter Picks have been organised in East Wemyss, Buckhaven, Leven, Methil and Lundin Links across the weekend, thanks to Fife Coast and Countryside Trust, the Levenmouth Local Tourism Association and a whole host of other local groups. All welcome and all equipment will be provided.

Sunday 26 May

Fife Heritage Railway‘s Bus Bundle event. Visit Kirkland Sidings site to see a number of vintage buses on display. There will be a £2 entry fee into the compound. Free bus rides.

Thursday 30 May

Garden party in Festival Gardens, Leven

Friday 31 May  

Local primary schools’ event at Savoy Park, Methil. More than 400 pupils from 11 primary schools will take part in a range of activities to highlight the new rail link and encourage active travel.

Friday 31 May 31 – Sunday 2 June

Funfair on Leven Prom

Sunday 2 June (first day of public train service)

Street entertainment from 11:30am - music, stalls and activities, Leven High Street.

There's also a Levenmouth Led Cycle from 11am to noon, starting at Silverburn Park before making pit stops at Leven Station via the Prom and back.
