Halbeath Park & Ride is a bus park and ride scheme from the west of Fife to Edinburgh and Glasgow. It is a joint initiative – developed by Fife Council and Transport Scotland (the Scottish Government) – and comes as part of the Forth Replacement Crossing Project.
Ferrytoll Park & Ride is a bus park and ride scheme, running from the South of Fife to Edinburgh. The aim was to tackle congestion problems during construction of the Queensferry Crossing, by:
The facility is operated as a partnership between ourselves and Stagecoach in Fife. We provide, maintain and manage the infrastructure, while Stagecoach operates most of the bus services and staffs the facility.
With ‘sister’ park & ride site at Ferrytoll – a few miles to the south – regularly reaching capacity, Halbeath Park & Ride offers additional capacity for those travelling across Fife and to Edinburgh.
The site is signed from the M90 & A92. Look out for the Park & Ride sign.
Halbeath P&R is located to the east of Dunfermline, at junction 3 of the M90. It has access from the A92 at Crossgates Roundabout.
Buses pick up passengers from the six stances outside the waiting room.
Edinburgh-bound services use the dedicated southbound M90 bus lane from Halbeath to the Forth Road Bridge. Once across the Bridge, buses make use of traffic signal controlled bus lanes into Edinburgh allowing them to bypass queues of other vehicles.
Glasgow-bound services travel across the Kincardine Bridge and use the recently completed M876 & M80 to the city centre.
Halbeath Park & Ride has the following facilities on site:
Within the main building there is a heated waiting area including:
Parking is free, with no maximum stay. There are 1124 car park spaces at Halbeath, which includes 48 disabled bays and 20 electric car charging bays. In addition, there is a pick-up / drop-off bay adjacent to Stance 1.
Customers are asked to park considerately, within marked bays at all times and to follow the circulation routes which are clearly marked. At no time should cars enter the bus access road.
There is no charge for vehicles which are left overnight. Customers are reminded that vehicles are left at the owners’ risk and that a parking space can never be guaranteed.
If you have any issues relating to parking, please email us at email@example.com.
