Ferrytoll Park & Ride is a bus park and ride scheme, running from the South of Fife to Edinburgh. It's a joint initiative – developed between Fife Council and Stagecoach – and comes as part of the Cross Forth Transportation Plan.
The aim was to tackle congestion problems caused by the number of vehicles crossing the Forth Road Bridge. On a daily basis, more than 60,000 vehicles crossed over it. Construction started in November 1999 and the site opened in November 2000 at a cost of £4.2m.
Ferrytoll has over 1000 spaces, including a multi-storey car park. It has proven to be an important bus interchange and car share facility.
The site is signed from the A90 – look out for the Park & Ride sign.
Ferrytoll is located to the south of Inverkeithing (just north of the Forth Road Bridge). It is immediately adjacent to, and has access from, the A90 at Ferrytoll Interchange.
Buses pick up passengers from the turning circle outside the waiting room and use the dedicated southbound bus lane from Ferrytoll to the Forth Road Bridge. Once across the Bridge, buses make use of traffic signal controlled bus lanes into Edinburgh, allowing them to bypass queues of other vehicles.
Ferrytoll has the following facilities on site:
Parking is Free with no maximum stay. There are 1042 car park spaces at Ferrytoll. This includes 28 disabled bays, located on the surface car park. There's also 11 pick-up drop-off bays directly adjacent to the main building.
Customers are asked to park considerately, within marked bays at all times. Please stick to the circulation routes, which are clearly marked.
Should you plan to stay for longer than two weeks, we also ask you park within the multi-storey. This will allow for any surface level maintenance to be carried out, following an adequate notice period.
If you have any issues relating to parking, please email us at: email@example.com
The building is open:
Out with these hours, the car park is open.
