This Privacy Notice explains how we use the information that we collect about you.

Fife Council use the information provided by you in order to process your process/investigate any alleged data protection breach or to assess a request relating to your individual information rights.

We have a legal requirement in terms of the GDPR/Data Protection Act 2018 to ensure all incidents and individual's rights are actioned and dealt with in accordance with the Act.

The personal information we gather and use includes:

  • Contact (Name, address, email, phone)
  • information relating to any alleged incident or in line with your individual rights

We may share the information you have provided with:

  • Other Council Services
  • the Information Commissioner's Office if we report a breach affecting your rights and freedoms

We may also receive information about you from:

  • Third Parties
  • Other Council Services

The Council will not keep your information for longer than is necessary. In some instances the law sets the length of time information has to be kept. The Council has a retention schedule which sets out how long we hold different types of information. This can be found here
