As of April 2021, Fife Justice Social Work created a dedicated Enhanced Bail Supervision Team. The traditional bail service has been enhanced by offering every individual who appears in Court from custody the opportunity to be assessed for bail supervision.
Those who accept this service are assessed on their suitability, assessing social and physical welfare needs, risk of harm and any compliance issues.
If assessed as suitable, the individual agrees to comply with an intensive support regime to address the welfare issues, which may be linked to their offending behaviour whilst also agreeing to abide by any bail conditions imposed by the Court to ensure public safety.
