We support employees who volunteer and give up their free time for the benefit of others.
A variety of studies have shown that volunteering is good for you; people who volunteer are happier, healthier and even live longer.
Other benefits linked with volunteering include:
The Fairer Fife Commission aspires that Fife will become one of the top five Scottish Local Authorities areas for numbers of people volunteering by 2030.
Please visit Fife Voluntary Action to find out more information on volunteering and Fife Council, as well as the volunteering opportunities available in Fife at present. They also have information on upcoming training and learning available and the opportunity to sign up for their volunteering bulletin.
The PVG scheme
The Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) membership scheme is managed and delivered by Disclosure Scotland. It ensures that people who are unsuitable to work with children and protected adults cannot do 'regulated work' with these vulnerable groups.
Volunteering for young people
Project Scotland aim to tackle the barriers stopping young people from realising their potential. They work with young people in volunteering roles, looking to gain work experience and an opportunity to develop themselves and 'give back'.
