Fife People’s Panel is a group of people who have volunteered to help improve Fife by giving their opinions and observations on a variety of public issues.
Launched in June 2006, the Panel is organised by Fife Partnership – which combines Fife Council, NHS Fife, Police, Fire Service and the voluntary sector.
Gathering information can be expensive and time-consuming – but it is essential if organisations want to improve their services.
By using the Panel, Fife Partnership prevents duplication of effort across the organisations.
Co-ordinated consultation exercises using the Panel are cost-effective – partly because they result in a higher than normal response rate.
Panel members receive questionnaires (either online or by post) around four times a year, and may also be invited to participate in telephone surveys, focus groups, or other consultation projects.
While it is necessary to register your details to become a member of the panel, questionnaires can be submitted anonymously if that would allow you to express your views more freely.
There’s no payment for being a member, but travel expenses are paid to members attending focus groups or forums.
Members usually stay on the panel for two or three years, but can opt out at any time.
