Every year, the Electoral Registration Officer is required by law to contact each household in their local registration area, as part of the Annual Canvass. This is to confirm if the information they hold on the electoral register is complete and accurate. This sometimes involves visits to properties.
We are looking for people aged 18 and over, who can work with us as Canvassers to complete the door-to-door visits during the Annual Canvass periods. You could be a Fife Council employee, a student, a retiree, or simply someone interested in getting involved. It's a great opportunity to see democracy in action, whilst earning a little extra cash.
You will receive full online training to make sure you are confident in your role.
These are flexible, depending on your availability. You can work up to a maximum of 36 hours per week, in the following shifts:
This is paid at Fife Council Living Wage grade, currently £12 per hour. An enhanced rate will be payable for any hours worked over Saturday and Sunday.

You can work the hours which suit you, whilst earning a little extra cash. Full training is provided, as well as equipment, so you are prepared for the job.
If you like the work, you can stay employed as a temporary member of staff. You will be given further opportunity to canvass in coming years, or do additional electoral registration work where required.

Back To TopIt is expected that canvassers will complete relevant Health and Safety and Data Protection online training, prior to starting their duties. Successful completion of the training is necessary, and time spent completing this will be paid.
