Electoral Registration Annual Canvass 2024

We have now started our Annual Canvass for this year and you may have received an email from the Electoral Registration Office asking you to confirm the household details at your property. The email is from the Fife Council Electoral Registration Office and is a legitimate email. You are being directed to www.registersecurely.com/fife to make your response - this is a secure website.

Each year the Electoral Registration Officer is required by law to contact each household in the registration area to check if there have been any changes.

We will contact every household in Fife between July and September. Once again, this year, we are using email as an alternative to letters where possible. Where householders have supplied their email addresses to us, we will send them an email with instructions on how to respond to the canvass process. Everyone else will still receive a letter and we will also follow up with those people who have not responded to the email with a letter.

Most households will only need to respond to communications (by email or paper form) if there have been any changes in the household. However, a proportion will be asked to reply even if there have been no changes. The communication you receive will tell you what you need to do.

If you have recently moved address and are receiving an error making the response, please contact the office on voters.roll@fife.gov.uk.

If you have moved address recently and have not updated your details then please visit www.gov.uk/registertovote to ensure that you are correctly registered.

Including a person’s name in a response to the canvass does not add that person to the register automatically. You will need to register to vote separately.

You will receive an Invitation to Register which you must complete and return (or go to the Government online voter registration site) to apply to register to vote.
