Concessions

Household Waste Recycling Centres are open for domestic waste. Commercial waste cannot be brought into any Household Waste Recycling Centre.

You can dispose of most things at our recycling centres. Our What you can bring to a recycling centre page will give you more information. If the item is not on the list, our A to Z of recycling page will give you advice on how to dispose of the item.

Do I need to book?

You will need to book a visit for the following centres:

In addition to this, the following vehicles must be booked in at all centres:

  • Short wheelbase (SWB) vans with a low roof including campervans and passenger vans
  • Small vans
  • Trailers (max. 6x4ft, excluding trailer coupling, and towed by a car, pickup or car-derived van) at all Recycling Centres except Cupar
  • Pickups (no cages or flatbeds)
    • If you are unsure whether your pickup vehicle is required to book, please check the DVLA's Get vehicle information page. If your pickup is classed as N1, it should be booked in.

The vehicles above are limited to one booking in a 7-day period. We have vehicle size guidance to explain what vehicles you can use at our sites.

All other Recycling Centres are open to cars and mobility-adapted vehicles, without a booking.

What's not allowed?

  • Commercial waste - suspected commercial or trade users will be banned. Find out your options on our Commercial Waste page.
  • Large vans (MWB, LWB and medium or high roofed vans)
  • Flatbeds and tipping vehicles
  • Trailers larger than 6x4ft and any trailer at Cupar Recycling Centre
  • Access by pedestrians or by bicycle

On site

  • Site staff cannot help to dispose of your waste but will be on hand to answer any questions. Please follow their instructions
  • Please have waste separated before your visit, to ease disposal and prevent traffic issues
  • We prosecute anyone who threatens or assaults our staff

I don't live in Fife - can I use the recycling centres?

Our recycling centres are not for use by non-Fife householders, unless the material originates from a Fife household and is being delivered by a relative, carer or friend of the householder.

To ensure that only waste generated in Fife is disposed of at our centres, staff may ask for proof of identity or residency. This could be a driving licence or household bill; anything with your address on it.

Failure to provide evidence will result in refusal to dispose of waste at the recycling centre, even if you've made a booking.
