Ferryport Nursery was opened in 1976 and occupies a site, five minutes from Tayport Primary School. Built of stone, it was originally the old infant school.
It was constructed in the mid 19th Century by the local business community and is located on the main Tayport to Dundee Road.
Ferryport is Victorian in style, with what was originally two classes being turned into a large playroom. Ferryport is light and airy and is well appointed. The nursery has a beautiful and enclosed terraced garden which the children love.
Although it is a standalone nursery, Ferryport works in close partnership with Tayport Primary school and almost all of the children who attend the nursery go on to attend this school. Mrs Tweed is the joint Head Teacher of both Tayport Primary School and Ferryport Nursery.
