Have a Go Canyoning

A day’s introduction to this new, exciting and dynamic activity. Challenge your sense of adventure as you journey through a Scottish gorge. Scramble, jump, slide, abseil and swim your way down the canyon, led by a team of instructors there to give you an amazing experience.

The choice of canyon will depend on water levels, weather and group ability.

Have a Go Coasteering

Action and adventure in the tidal impact zone. Explore exciting sections of the stunning coastline by scrambling along the cliffside, jumping from rocky outcrops and swimming through caves and zorns.

You will develop basic paddleboard skills to ensure you can enjoy a short journey on a local loch, river or part of Fife's coastline.

Have a Go Kayaking

A journey offsite on a local loch, river or part of Fife’s coastline. You will practice and develop relevant skills needed for a journey and learn about the environment you are in.

An introduction to bouldering, rock climbing and abseiling. You will explore a local crag , or if the weather is poor, you will visit an indoor wall.

It’s summer and school’s out so why not join us for the FUN based outdoor course. Each course is run over 2 days and is tailored to the age and abilities of the group.

You will have the chance to try out land and water activities at Lochore Meadows Outdoor Education Centre. Activities include kayaking, canoeing, mountain biking, climbing, archery and jetty jumping.

The instructor will make the best decision for your child based on factors such as the weather and abilities within the group. We will try to keep to the programme, but please be aware that activities may be subject to change on the day.

Those wishing to access activities at a higher level should book on a skills course appropriate to their level of interest and experience. All participants need to be water confident and are likely to get wet and muddy during the two days.

Similar to Fun in the Park but the group will go away for the day on Wednesday to a local hill, beach or bike trail depending on the group and weather conditions. The off-site day may involve watersports, coasteering, mountain biking.

The instructor will make the best decision for your child based on factors such as the weather and abilities within the group. We will try to keep to the programme, but please be aware that activities may be subject to change on the day.

Those wishing to access activities at a higher level should book on a skills course appropriate to their level of interest and experience. All participants need to be water confident and are likely to get wet and muddy during the two days.

Ultimate Adventure

It’s summer and school’s out so why not join us for our ultimate adventure course. Each course is run over 5 days and is tailored to the abilities of the group.

You will have the chance to try out land and water activities at Lochore Meadows

After a fun first day at Lochore Meadows the rest of the week will be away at various locations. Thursday & Friday will be a mini expedition either at a campsite or wild camp depending on the group and weather conditions.

The instructor will make the best decision for your child based on factors such as the weather and abilities within the group. We will try to keep to the programme, but please be aware that activities may be subject to change on the day.

Those wishing to access activities at a higher level should book on a skills course appropriate to their level of interest and experience. All participants need to be water confident and are likely to get wet and muddy during the two days.

The overnight part of the Ultimate Adventure course.

The plan is to prepare for a biking and canoe expedition most likely in the Loch Tay or Loch Tummel area. They will prepare kit and canoes before driving to the Loch. The group will spend the day biking, paddling and end up at their chosen wild camp site either on an island or the Loch side. The following morning after breakfast the group will paddle down the loch to the minibus before returning to Lochore Meadows for a planned finish time of 3.30pm.


SAILING


ONBOARD CLUB

The On Board Club exists to provide regular, quality sailing opportunities for young people.

Sundays April - Oct | 8 - 15yrs | £12 | All Equipment Provided

9.30am - 12pm (Novice/Stage 1) & 1pm - 3.30pm (Stage 2+) 

Each month sessions will have several targets with the aim of encouraging progress and developing new skills. During these sessions there will be the chance to work through the RYA Levels to become a more independent sailor.


RYA Level 1 – Start Sailing

All Stage 1 courses use single-handed RS Quba dinghies. You will learn quickly and improve your skills while enjoying the thrills and spills of this exciting sport. Courses are mostly practical with some theory. By the end of this introductory course you will have basic understanding of how a boat sails and some experience of steering and handling the boat.

RYA Level 2 – Basic Skills

At the completion of this course you will have a widening range of skills and knowledge and be well on the way to being a confident small boat sailor.

RYA Level 3/4 – Better Sailing

This course is aimed at those with at least a season’s experience sailing since completing a Stage 2 course. You should be confident sailing a dinghy on your own. At the end of the Stage 3 course you will be able to sail in any direction and rig and launch your own boat. You can regard yourself as a sailor, not a beginner.

The course aims to cover RYA Stage 3 -weather permitting

Sail Night

Choose between a hire or a coaching session

Monday Evenings | 11+ | April - Oct | 6pm - 8pm

Choose between hiring your own boat, knowing there is the supervision of a qualified instructor, or choose to make the most of a  coach led session and improve skills, or work towards an RYA Award.

Get some top tips, learn new skills, have a race or just have some fun and get wet.

These sessions are ideal if you have already completed a Start Sailing course or equivalent.

This is not a formal course so you should already have some basic sailing skills. If not have a look at a Discover Sailing Taster or Start Sailing Course.

Paddlesports

Paddlenight Splash

Monday & Wednesday Evenings | April - Oct | 6 - 8pm | Age 8+ (under 11 must be accompanied by an adult)

The PaddleNight Splash is a fun session which is supervised but not led by staff.

Staff will be on hand to assist you with selecting and launching equipment.  They will give you some guidance on where to paddle and any limits.  They will be able to give a few top tips on how to paddle but remember this is not a taught course.

Staff are primarily there to keep an eye on participants and ensure the safety of those taking part.  As numbers and time allows they may set up a game or a challenge at some point throughout the evening.

If you prefer you can just go for a paddle and practise your own skills.
